Continuity is not just about conversations - but also action, plot development and movement. What is interesting is to consider how a sequence may have been done over various takes, or even days and continuity editing creates the illusion of continuous action, often compressing time invisibly:




This example shows how continuity can cover up stunts - the lead guy is clearly a parkour genius, but stunt men following are not and the edit covers up their landing on buildings... watch carefully:
